Hi Arun, First, we apologize for taking so long to get back to you on your request! re: > Hi, can you help me get started with an academic feed for NEXRAD data? Yes, certainly. We can setup the needed LDM ALLOW for you to REQUEST and IDD feed for the NEXRAD2 (full volume scan data) datastream. What we need from you is: - the fully qualified hostname and external IP address of the UMass machine that will be running our LDM software NB: in order to feed you any of the IDD datastreams, there will need to be both forward and reverse DNS for the machine on which you will run the LDM. - a list of datastreams that you want to REQUEST (in addition to the NEXRAD2 feed, of course) You will need to identify the *nix (Unix/Linux) machine on which you will run the LDM; insure that there is forward and reverse DNS for this machine; register with our web site; download, and then build and install the LDM. After doing the above, we will advise you on the best way to setup processing of the NEXRAD Level 2 products you will receive in the NEXRAD2 data feed. What will need to be done on your side is a bit complicated by the volume scans being broken up into pieces and those pieces being sent. You will need to setup reconstitution of the full volume scans on your machine; this is what we will advise you on.
