You can certainly do other things while the LDM is running... the LDM runs
very efficiently and uses as few system resources as possible.
Your comment prompts the following comment:
- the LDM is designed to run all of the time. The data available in the
IDD is delivered in real-time, and there is no facility for providing
old data
The point is that you will want to run an LDM continuously on a machine
to get the type(s) of data you want/need. It is then up to you as to
what you want to do with the data (e.g., convert to a form usable by
whatever application you will use to analyze the data; save off data
into local archives; scour the data off of disk; etc.).
