This typically indicates that the LDM was not completely installed.
Since you noted that you had completed the LDM in a previous email,
it likely means that the configuration specified in /etc/syslog.conf
has a problem; that the SELINUX setting is not allowing logging;
or that syslogd is not running.
Please send us the following files (the actual files, not cut and paste's of
the files):
/etc/syslog.conf
/etc/setlinux/config
/etc/rpc
/etc/services
Also, please send the output from:
ps -eaf | grep syslog

Nope, and empty log file is not likely top be of much help.
