The experiment that Mike Schmidt did (having CMA's LDM connect to port 8080 at NCAR) demonstrated that traffic using port 388 was being restricted. I don't see anything wrong with two LDM servers at the same site, however. If I understand correctly, the data supplied by each would be disjoint from the other -- consequently, the total bandwidth usage would be the same as one LDM server supplying everything. Is spinning up an LDM server all that difficult?
