$ iddlist | grep thelma

ESTABLISHED

Did you stop and restart the LDM on sunny after making the request change?

Yes, I did restart the ldm.  I did a netstat on sunny, and I see no 
connection to thelma.  Perhaps it took a while to timeout on thelma.
