To users of ACARS NetCDF files- A new data field, "maximum derived equivalent vertical gust" will soon be added to ACARS NetCDF files being produced by the FSL Central Facility. Consequently it is planned that the following paragraph be added to our /public/data/acars/raw/RawAcars.cdl file immediately following the current entry for vertAccel: float vertGust(recNum); vertGust:long_name = "maximum derived equivalent vertical gust"; vertGust:units = "meters/sec"; vertGust:valid_range = -99.9, 99.9; vertGust:_FillValue = 99999.f; If this will cause problems for you, or if you have comments, corrections, or suggestions, please contact Joe Carlson at one of the locations below before the close of business on Wednesday October 18th. This change should go into integration on Thursday 10/19. address@hidden (303)497-6794
