Hello Tom, I sent this out to some of our admins...I figured you would want to know as well for future planning purposes. Gilbert ******************************************************************************* Gilbert Sebenste ******** Internet: address@hidden (My opinions only!) ****** Staff Meteorologist, Northern Illinois University **** E-mail: address@hidden *** web: http://weather.admin.niu.edu ** Work phone: 815-753-5492 * ******************************************************************************* FYI... NIU just announced to me that we got funding to upgrade the partial T3 here on campus. It was supposed to happen this morning, but due to technical problems, it didn't. But by next week we will go from a 6 MB connnection to a 9 MB connection. Furthermore, the State of Illinois is trying to connect everyone via their new service called Centurynet, with is a *shared* OC-3 connection to EVERY state government entity in Illinois. I was just told that they are gunning for spring-summer 2000 for implementation of that at NIU. OC-3 is a honker of a connection, folks. But, again, it will be shared. (unimportant to UNIDATA stuff deleted)
