Yes, since GEMPAK is available as a source code download, end users can
make modifications to the code and (re)compile on their own systems
I want to add two cautions about modifying the code:
- you will pretty much be on your own in troubleshooting problems
with the code you modify
- installation of new GEMPAK distributions (if there are future releases
which is in doubt) will require that you re-add your modifications to
the code in the new distribution
