Steve, Thanks for the e-mail about the dcreanal program. As it turns out, I have managed to get my data in the GRIB format, so I don't have to worry about converting it to NetCDF. I did have another question for you. I did finally use NMAP and the GRPHGD program to convert hand analyses to gridded data that I could later plot, which I had sent you an e-mail about several weeks ago. Recently, some of the computers in our lab have been upgraded to the newest version of GEMPAK, 5.7.2, while the other computers still run GEMPAK 5.6.d.1. I have tried to create some grids on 5.7.2 boxes with VGF files that I created using 5.6.d.1. When I try to use GRPHGD in NMAP on a 5.7.2 box, I get an error message that says: "Grid data for contouring is all missing or constant." These VGF files still work to create grids on 5.6.d.1. Any idea as to what the problem may be? For now I've just continued to use the 5.6 program to create my grids, but once those get replaced, I need to know how to use 5.7! Thanks again for all your help. Tom Tom Green Graduate Research Assistant Department of Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences North Carolina State University Raleigh, NC E-mail: address@hidden
