Mynul,
In the GEMPAK distribution, I provide entries for your pqact.conf file which
is used to decode the sounding data from the LDM into a GEMPAK file.
Your ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf file controls what data are sent to your host from
the upstream LDM. Tthe sounding data are in the IDS|DDPLUS feed, which most
sites
get at a minimum.
Your pqact.conf file tells your LDM what to do with the data when it arrives.
In the case of sounding data for GEMPAK, the data is sent to the GEMPAK
program dcuair for decoding.
Complete details are available in the following web pages:
http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/gempak/GEMPAK5.7/configuration.html
(See the LDM configuration section at the top of the page)
http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/gempak/GEMPAK5.7/Install_GEMPAK5.7.html
(see runtime configuration at the bottom of page)
In a nut shell, copy the $GEMEXE/dcuair program to ~ldm/decoders/dcuair
(create the ~ldm/decoders directory if it doesn't already exist).
The dcuair entries for sounding data are found in
$NAWIPS/ldm/etc/templates/pqact.gempak_decoders.in for your pqact.conf
(and running the $NAWIPS/ldm/etc/gen_pqact.csh script will replace the @GEMTBL@
string in the sample file with the correct location for $GEMTBL on your system).
The other decoders (dc programs) are configured similarly. The easiest way is
to concatenate the generated pqact.conf entries to your existing file,
or configure your ldmd.conf to exec a separate instance of pqact using
the GEMPAK decoder entries.
