Gempak users,

The Unidata release of GEMPAK 5.7.1 is now available. Please note
the new version numbering and other new features as described in:

http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/gempak/GEMPAK5.7/whats_new.html#5.7.1

You will find that the distribution now unpacks to a version
specific directory to make it easier to manage distributions
on your machine (as is done with other Unidata packages such as LDM,
NetCDF, etc). as described in the updated installation notes:
http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/gempak/GEMPAK5.7/Install_GEMPAK5.7.html

Of particular note if you are already using existing pqact entries for
decoding MOS is that previous AVN and MRF (old and new format) MOS
decoders are replaced with dcgmos and dcxmos (for GFS and extended GFS
MOS bulletins respectively). You will want to ensure that your pqact
entries are upgraded to the new decoders.
