This archive contains answers to questions sent to Unidata support through mid-2025. Note that the archive is no longer being updated. GEMPAK users,

I have posted the Unidata release of GEMPAK 5.6.M for download on
our web portal:

The distribution is provided in source code as well as executable 
binaries for various platforms (Note that the Linux binary is now 
compiled using Fedora). 

New dataset features of the UPC release include:

- Dcgrib2 support of GRIB2 bulletins using JPEG2000 compression (eg GFS 
.5 degree and ETA 218 12km grids on NWS ftp servers) based on NWS g2libc
library.

- Program support for upcoming Level II build 5.0 radar format change
