Eric, GEMPAK 5.6.J does not read LevelII data files. I have fitted GEMPAK 5.6.K with the NASA/TRMM RSL library routines for displaying the products. Some points to make: 1) The CRAFT data has all tilt and paramaters in a single file. I created a program gpnexr2 to allow the user to specify which parameter and tilt level within the radar file to plot. Otherwise, the other programs without this information will default to plotting base reflectivity for tilt 0. 2) The CRAFT data does not have the station ID in the data. In you use the CAPS decoder (nexradII), you need to name file files like: $RAD/craft/KILN/KILN_YYYYMMDD_HHNN This is the template I have in the datatype.tbl file for NEXRADII so that the program knows which station the file represents. I have wrapped a decoder dcnexr2 which uses a command line argument from the LDM to store the station ID in the data file in unused bytes of the data, so if you use that pqact.conf entry, you don't have to be as strict with the file naming....but I still use the NEXRADII template. 3) I have created a program nexr2rhi for plotting RHI cross sections through the volume scan. I am trying to get the tarfiles on the web site todar for the new distribution.
