Stonie, I pass all redbook stuff to dcredbook for processing there, since as you mention, the WMO header is not adequate (which is a problem not unique to these products). In dcredbook, I create output file names from a table based on the PIL id within the redbook graphic. My goal for getting away from the FOS (pqing ingested) feeds is to create a canonicallized header. For reedbook, my ingestor is currently getting information both from the CCB and from the redbook blocks to create a name which has the PIL, product name, time etc. But, I still have more control within the dcredbook decoder to create a full string for a name based on the PIL. You can from an edu site like UGA, run notifyme to thelma.ucar.edu for some examples: $ notifyme -v -l - -o 3600 -f HDS -p redbook -h thelma 12400 20030428203857.061 HDS 89764716 PGWA31 KWBC 282000 !redbook 0_0/NMCGPHP0W/WXDEP/PXS0000CN/20030428 2021 1994 20030428203857.063 HDS 89764717 PGWA32 KWBC 282000 !redbook 0_0/NMCGPH90W/WXDEPC/PXS0000CN/20030428 2021 18148 20030428204124.559 HDS 89767432 PYBA89 KWNM 282040 !redbook 1_1/NMCGPHRP0/PRSFNT/PISF000NH/20030428 2040 Here, I'm tacking on my header after the WMO header beginning with the ! character.
