Steve, Thanks for making all the provisions for us in regards to GEMPAK. I have attached some code that we have written to deal with autoupdate within NMAP, and it's relationship to the file being completely received. If you, or the crew at NCEP, find such patches valuable, we have more. Just let us know. Specifically, with the NMAP Auto Update feature enabled, NMAP did not check the file size to make sure that entire image was received before attempting a display. This is more apparent with the larger GINI images on NOAAPort, as they can take a few minutes to be completely received. The result had been to get a loop where several of the frames would be half black from the missing data as the file was being written. The attached contains a gzipped tar ball of an additional function file, companion header, as well as an edited calling file (from the latest 5.6a), the edited Makefile, and finally, the config file used. Please do not hesitate to comment on it's usability for Unidata - what we may find valuable may not necessarily meet any needs the Unidata community may have. -- Stonie R.
