Mel, The error message says that this is grid projection 240 which should be a NOGAPS grid. The -11 error means that the grid file is full. By default, dcgrib allocates space for 1500 grids in a gempak grid file when it is created. Since there are now more than 1500 grids in the nogaps run, you will need to use the "-m numgrids" option for dcgrib to specify the space for the number of grids that will be allocated when the file is created. For example, to allow space for 3000 grids in the file: dcgrib -m 3000 YYYYMMDDHH_nogaps@@@.gem running gdinfo of the grid file will tell you how many grids are actually in the file.
