20001027: setting 8 bit color on DEC UNIX for GEMPAK
- Subject: 20001027: setting 8 bit color on DEC UNIX for GEMPAK
- Date: Tue, 31 Oct 2000 12:46:26 -0700
Doug,
The default visual ID must be 8 bit pseudocolor for GEMPAK.
The configuration for the depth of the X server is generally set in
/etc/dt/config or /usr/lib/X11/config (the former if you are running
CDE). The man page on X(1) should define the options that may be
specified with the server on startup, generall something like -defdepth 8
(unless you already are setting it to 16 bits.
