Doug,

perl installation needed.

This is perl, version 5.004

Copyright 1987-1997, Larry Wall

needs to be installed on lead1, current version 5.8.0 has a problem and I
need to have same version as motherlode for testing.

Details:

Some of the perl decoders have been acting strangly on lead1. ie Eating
up most of the CPU. After doing extensive checking, comparing motherlode
and lead1 code bases. Decoders run ok on motherlode. The version
of perl on lead1 5.8.0 has a problem with the select stmt. ie

The four-argument form of select() did not preserve $! (errno) properly
when there were errors in the underlying call. This is now fixed.
version 5.8.1

This function is critical to the perl decoders.

Thanks,
Robb...
