Decoders Release

This archive contains answers to questions sent to Unidata support through mid-2025. Note that the archive is no longer being updated. We provide the archive for reference; many of the answers presented here remain technically correct, even if somewhat outdated. Hiya,

I'm pleased to release the decoders package 2.3.7.  The release contains
minor modifications to the metar decoder to insert reports into the correct
files instead of the rawmetar files. gribtonc was modified to recognize new
suffixes for the ruc2 model. ruc2.cdl was updated with the new variables
starting in Jan 2000. The buoy decoder was modified to get the year correct,
00 instead of 09. Also, the decoders testing was updated to the year 2000.

2.3.6                   y2k fixes in all the perl decoders.
                        Upperair decoder now uses the awips cdl, called 
                        raob.cdl, changed upperair/Makefile.in to include 
                        raob.cdl, modified test.pl for upperair. grib1.h was
                        modified to accommodate large products.  ruc2.cdl was
                        modifies for new variables, ie ssrun.


The new decoders release is accessible through anonymous ftp at:
