Thank you for moving MRMS from Boulder to College Park.

I'm curious if there is any way to speed up the failover of MRMS from one IDP site to the other IDP site? 

SPC had an active watch with multiple reports, including tornadoes, and MRMS data stopped coming in at ~2024Z.

SPC alerts started generating on this at 2045Z (i.e. 21 minutes into the outage),  I emailed the SDM and others requesting a switch to CP at 2052Z (i.e. 27 minutes into the outage), and when the MRMS switched to CP and data started arriving again for SPC forecasters it was at 2122Z (i.e. 58 minutes since the outage began).

Email seems to be generating increasing inefficiencies in organizations. I learned from a manager a Stanford Computer Science professor no longer uses email for communication, but uses SNAIL mail, telephone calls, and person to person visits. I'm considering the same.
