The Maintenance activity in Silver Spring has been rescheduled (again) due to Critical Weather. The work will be highly visible. The date change will mitigate risk associated with critical weather during the maintenance event.
The activity has been changed to the week of February 8th:
Start Time: 9:00 AM (Eastern time) Monday Feb 8th, 2021
Finish Time: 5:00PM (Eastern Time) Friday Feb 12th, 2021
Duration: 5 Days
Event: Facility Network Upgrade (Silver Spring)
NCEP Central Operations (NCO) Network Support Branch (NSB) will be
performing hardware upgrades which require powering down all network
equipment in Silver Spring which affect the data flow of the National
Level II (NL2) Network TDS path.
The activity will take about 5 days to complete and will affect Data
flow of the "Silver Spring/TDS Level II Path" for up to 2 hours
(Possibly, multiple times) during that window.
The Data Path via Norman, OK/RDS server is not part of this activity.
(No service interruption via RDS path is anticipated.)
Please keep BOTH NL2 connections (Silver Spring & Norman) up to avoid
data flow interruption. National Level II (NL2) status information
via
weather.gov is available.
