OK.  I have no problem with you doing the work (I have more than enough
on my plate as it is).  I was trying to not foist work off on you.

Yes, but, then again, if you do all of the work by yourself, then you
are the focus of too much knowledge in too few people :-)

Can I suggest that when it comes time to writing the new scripts, that
they be _heavily_ commented?  A few pointers about what is going on and
what is expected goes a long way when someone has to look at the code
down the road (including the author).
