Joe,
>This is just a check to see if we may be the only site not receiving

>there a problem upstream or could it be local?
There is no problem at the source (SSEC) since a number of sites that
I can check via ADDE appear to have current data:
Lyndon State
Metro State College (Denver)
National Scientific Balloon Facility
San Jose State University
Unidata
University of Northern Iowa
University of Virginia
There are some not getting images (at least I don't see new images with ADDE
IMGLISTs):
you
Creighton
Kean University
St. Cloud State
University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Apparently the site feeding you (data2.atmos.uiuc.edu) is not getting the
images. Neither is the site feeding it (squall.atmos.uiuc.edu).
Since squall feeds directly from SSEC, it would appear that the problem
is at U. Illinois.
The way to check this at your site is:
o login to the machine running your LDM as the user running the LDM
o identify who you are requesting the MCIDAS stream from: check the request
line in ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf for MCIDAS or UNIDATA
o see if your upstream feed site has received MCIDAS data in the last hour:
notifyme -vxl- -f MCIDAS -h hostname_from_ldmd.conf
If the 'notifyme' listing from your upstream site shows no data products
for the MCIDAS stream, then find out who is feeding them:
o go to the Unidata WWW homepage and click on "Internet Data Delivery (IDD)"
o click on "Current Operational Status"
o click on "McIDAS routing"
o look for your machine name in the listing and see who feeds it and who
feeds your feeder
The final thing to do is to get the contact name at the feed site that is
not receiving data (or better yet, the names of the contact at your
upstream feeder and his upstream feeder) and send him (them) an email
notification of your lack of data (what and for how long).
The contact names can be found at:
o go to the Unidata WWW homepage and click on "Internet Data Delivery (IDD)"
o click on "Current Operational Status"
o click on "IDD site contact list"
Since your upstream feed site and its upstream feed site are at the same
university, the contact is a single person:
