Hi Pete, re: > I saw this come through the pipe on a NOAA mailing list I'm on. > > https://www.weather.gov/media/notification/SCN_20-75_GEFSv12_Changes.pdf Yup, we received an email from NCEP Central Operations about this upcoming change a couple of days ago: "The GEFS model is being upgraded and the 1 degree files will no longer be created. Half degree files are available. You can find examples of this data on para-nomads - https://para.nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/ ; Please let me know if you are able to test and would like the .5 degree sent to conduit systems." I sent back a reply that we would like to get a test feed to assess the impact on the CONDUIT feed (e.g., volume), and asked if that was possible. We have not received a reply to our query. re: > Among other things, they are increasing the number of ensemble members > from 21 to 31, extending the forecasts out to 35 days for the 00UTC run, > and increasing the resolution from 0.5 deg to 0.25 deg - not sure if that > increase applies to distribution files though.. I _assume_ that it does, but I can't say for sure that it will. re: > FYI in case you hadn't seen it. I've been hoping to get a reply to our query/request. Things happen even slower now with most folks working from home...
