I don't think we need anything from you, and yes, we are still going to
send a note to the CONDUIT using community about what they would like
to see added to the datastream.
Question:
- does the availability of the 0.25 deg GFS data mean that the 0.5 deg
GFS data will no longer be available?
If yes, it essentially means that the GFS must be upgraded to the
0.25 deg fields.
If no, it means that there is time to do an orderly transition to
the 0.25 deg fields
The issue is really whether the CONDUIT relays and end-users can
accommodate the 4x (or more) increase in data volume that would/will
occur with the relay of the 0.25 deg data.
Comment:
- Lately I have been spending my time trying to sort out some things
in the NOAAPort SBN that we believe may be GRIB2 coding mistakes
I have not written you or Becky (by the way, who is the correct
person to contact about problems with NOAAPort-delivered data?)
because I wanted to be absolutely sure that our opinion that some
things are not being coded correctly is absolutely correct.
Cheers,
Tom
