Hi there,

Depending on what you're trying to do, you likely do not need your own EDEX
server and can use our
publicly available one.
Are you wanting to run CAVE -- that's the visualization component of AWIPS that
allows you to load
and view data that's on our EDEX server? If so, I highly recommend starting
with our helpful, step-
by-step tutorial, Learn AWIPS CAVE:
https://unidata.github.io/awips2/appendix/educational-resources/#cave-elearning-course
If you're wanting to use python-awips, our programmatic API for accessing EDEX
data, then we also
have a similar, short tutorial course for that as well:
https://unidata.github.io/awips2/appendix/educational-resources/#python-awips-elearning-course
Let me know if those are helpful and get you what you're looking for?
Thanks!
