It's not very hard to start your own server. You will have best results if you
have
a dedicated machine (it specifically runs edex and not other things). And it
has to
be a CentOS7 machine (it cannot run on Windows or Mac -- although you may be
able
to have success running it in a Linux virtual machine).
If you want to process a lot of data I would recommend quite a bit of RAM and a
decent
amount of disc space.
The 'hardest' thing, if you are not an educational institution, is getting the
data
feeds and then creating processes for ingesting the data into EDEX.
