Hi Peter,
You're right, it looks like they updated the miniconda webpage. I was able to
find the 3.7 version from here:
http://www.cs.tohoku-gakuin.ac.jp/pub/Tools/Anaconda/
I do suspect that the difference in version is what's causing the issue with
displaying. I have spent a few hours today trying to get jep to install. I have
miniconda3 Python 3.7 and am able to pip install numpy 1.15.1 with no issues.
When trying to install jep (after installing JDK), I got a similar error, but a
slightly newer version: "MS Visual C++ 14.1 is required". However, I wasn't
able to get find the 14.1 version...I could install Visual Studio 2017, but the
furthest version I could go back was version 14.11 which didn't work. I then
tried to install the jep source code for version 3.8.2
(https://github.com/ninia/jep) however I was running into a new error "error:
Unable to find vcvarsall.bat" even though that file existed in "C:\Program
Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\BuildTools\VC\Auxiliary\Build". So I
was not successful in installing jep.
If you are able to install the Windows version of CAVE and connect to your EDEX
can you try installing the VMPlayer with CAVE installed on CentOS7?
Also, you mentioned that you were originally not able to access your EDEX from
the laptop. I talked to some colleagues on how we have our EDEX
setup/accessible. These were the steps we took:
-configure the firewall (iptables) to all traffic on the two ports that AWIPS
uses (9581 and 9582)
-making/using a public ipaddress
Thanks,
